Can I Vote ?

  • Are a citizen of the United States
  • Are a resident of the Seligman Precinct
  • Are a registered republican
  • Will be eighteen years of age or more on or before the date of the regular general election next following his registration
  • Will have been a resident of the state twenty-nine days next preceding the election
  • Are able to write their name or make their mark, unless prevented from so doing by physical disability
  • Has not been convicted of treason or a felony, unless restored to civil rights
  • Has not been adjudicated an incapacitated person

Where Can I Vote?

Vote by Mail & Drop Box Locations 2026 Elections Two elections are expected for 2026. Ballots will be mailed to those on the Active Early Voting List.

These ballots can be returned by mail or by using a Yavapai County Official Drop Boxes listed here.

Voters on the Active Early Voting List (AEVL) are automatically sent a ballot for every election for which they are qualified to vote.

Jurisdictional elections are all mail elections.

All Early Ballots must be in the possession of the County Recorder by 7:00 pm on Election Day.

Justice of the Peace

What is a Justice of the Peace?

A Justice of the Peace (JP) serves as the presiding judge for a Precinct’s Justice Court, often called "The People’s Court." In Arizona, this is a grassroots judicial office responsible for handling the everyday legal matters that affect a community's residents directly. A JP oversees small claims disputes, civil lawsuits involving limited amounts, traffic violations, and Class C misdemeanors. Beyond the courtroom, they perform vital civic duties such as administering oaths, granting licenses, and performing marriage ceremonies.  

The office is unique because it emphasizes common-sense justice and local accountability. Unlike higher courts that can feel distant or intimidating, the Justice Court is designed to be accessible to everyone. Because JPs are elected by their neighbors in specific precincts like Seligman and Ash Fork, they bring a deep understanding of local values to the bench. They ensure the law is applied fairly, efficiently, and with the integrity expected of a trusted community leader. 1
